Dear Parents and Guardians,

As April arrives, I am pleased to share some updates and reflections on the recent activities of our school. This month has already been full of noteworthy events and achievements that highlight the dedication and collective efforts of our school community.

First and foremost, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our outstanding students, dedicated staff, and volunteer parents who support us. Your unwavering commitment to the mission of our school is truly commendable and serves as the foundation of our shared success. It is through your spirit of collaboration and hard work that we continue to create an environment of nurturing and enrichment for our students.

A standout highlight of this month was the "Open, Honest, and Respectful Conversations Symposium," led by one of our Grade 12 Leadership students last Friday afternoon. I had the opportunity to attend four of the sessions, and I can tell you firsthand how it offered an incredible opportunity for our students to engage in meaningful dialogue and exchange diverse perspectives on a variety of topics. It was inspiring to witness the depth of insight and maturity as they navigated through complex issues with respect and intellectual rigor. Events like these play a vital role in fostering a culture of open communication and critical thinking within our school community.

Additionally, our Intermediate students have made significant progress in their swimming lessons, which take place every Friday this month. These sessions not only improve their ability to swim but also instill valuable life skills such as confidence and resilience. I extend my sincere thanks to our Parent Advisory Committee for their generous support in funding these lessons and to our dedicated teachers for their unwavering commitment to student development and their efforts to organize this worthwhile event.

Furthermore, last Friday afternoon our Primary classes, in collaboration with the Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy, also hosted the successful "Grow a Love of Reading" Program. Once again, I had the opportunity to see firsthand how this event brought together students and families in a celebration of reading and learning, with interactive workshops and captivating presentations. We even had a student musical performance in the Lighthouse Theater featuring all primary students singing and three of our students playing the ukulele! It was heartening to witness the enthusiasm and joy displayed by our students as they immersed themselves in the world of literature. I commend our teachers for their creativity and dedication in organizing such a meaningful event, and I thank Barb from CBAL for her ongoing collaboration with our reading programs.

As we reflect on these achievements, it is clear to me that our school community remains steadfast in its commitment to providing a holistic and inclusive educational experience for all students. By aligning our efforts with our mission and values, we ensure that each child receives the support and resources they need to thrive academically and personally. These three events highlight this effort and are part of our annual goals to nurture lifelong learners who thrive in a changing world.

In conclusion, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each member of our school community for your unwavering dedication and support. Together, we will continue to inspire and empower our students to reach their full potential.

Thank you for your continued collaboration and commitment to our shared goals.

Warm regards,

Ron
