JVH Drama Production of "OZ"

Follow the yellow brick road...

J.V. Humphries students in the Drama Exploratory class participated a wildly successful production of "OZ" on December 12-14 at the JVH Lighthouse Theatre. All three shows of the JVH Drama Production were sold out! Every student in the Drama Exploratory class was in the cast, production crew or stage crew for the performance.

Congratulations and many thanks to students and staff!

Annual Holiday Hamper Fundraiser

This year JVH held a fundraiser from Monday to Friday, December 5th to the 16th. Senior students scheduled themselves for 60-minute shifts outside the Front Street Market. Thirty-eight shifts (!!) of dedicated students volunteered during their busy school day and made up the work they missed from class, raising in excess of $3800!

Great work JVH student volunteers!

The Leaders Among Us

Our Student Parliament and Leadership students organized a Family Carnival with something for everyone! There were over 15 activities, from a dunk tank to face painting, old style events like bowling, bean bag toss, balloon darts and more. Over 250 people joined us for dinner, games, prizes and lots of great community building.

Each one of our Leadership students has taken on a project over the year -some of which are:

JVH Student makes promo video!

Our international student Jonathan Heiss, grade 10, made a video using his own drone footage of things he enjoyed while a student at JVH this spring.

It gives a great snapshot of what life in our K-12 school is like, and some of what our community offers.

We will miss Jonathan next year, and are excited to welcome other international students from as far away as Bangladesh and Germany.
